Brandt Thomas Butler, 23, passed away at his home on January 6, 2026.
Brandt was born on August 28, 2002, to Todd and Lori Butler, and was a bright and curious soul from a young age. As a child, he showed an early mind for engineering, spending hours building intricate creations with K’Nex and dreaming up how things worked. That thoughtful creativity stayed with him throughout his life, shaping the way he approached both work and relationships. There was nothing that could stop him from fixing something big or small.
He was known for his sharp mind and love of a good debate, especially when it came to politics and history. Brandt confided in his older sister, Claire, for much of his adult life. Their conversations were filled with tough love and honesty.
Brandt had a deep love for animals and cherished his pets, who brought him comfort and companionship. Deep relationships meant everything to him, and some of his fondest memories included lake life and creating sand castles with family and cousins at his grandpa Tom’s.
Professionally, Brandt took great pride in his work. Brandt spent much time involved in the early years of his father’s family tree business as an arborist. He went above and beyond showing up early and staying late, committed to his role. Brandt very much valued his fellow co workers and cherished his work relationships, specifically with Kevin and Derek. Later on his younger brother, Blake, joined along side him in the family business. Over time, that partnership grew into a bond of admiration and respect, and Brandt often shared how proud he was of the man his brother had become. Of all his work, he especially loved being a tower climber, a role that matched both his adventurous spirit and his dedication to doing things right. Brandt also spent a short while in his high school years doing janitorial work for the local school district. Tammy was an influential friend and co worker he spoke highly of. Throughout his work life he was a true perfectionist, Brandt was known for the pride he took in every job, no matter how big or small.
Those who knew Brandt will remember his dry sense of humor and his comedic storytelling. He had a contagious laugh which was more of cackle at times. A sound his family has deeply missed over the recent years.
As he grew older, Brandt developed a love for independence and the open road. One of his greatest accomplishments included road tripping with his camper across the country. He shared fond memories of visiting the Red Woods and seeing the Colorado mountains. He enjoyed taking trips with his beloved girlfriend, Alicia, creating joyful memories. He adored his camper and treasured the freedom it gave him to explore. At home, you could often find him carefully detailing his Ford F-250, taking hours out of his day to make sure it was in “mint” condition as he would always say.
Although Brandt will be remembered for his strong will, determination, and deep care for others, Brandt did not lead an easy life and those close to Brandt knew of his mental health struggles throughout the years.
He will be deeply missed.
