Brian David Winkel, 76, passed away on October 19, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston, Wisconsin. 

Brian was born on August 9, 1948, to David and Betty Winkel of Granton, Wisconsin. He graduated from Granton High School in 1966. Brian married Marjorie Rosandich on December 28, 1968, in Chili, Wisconsin. He worked various jobs before joining the US Air Force in June of 1968. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in April of 1972. Brian then attended and graduated from Mid-State Technical School in 1975, with an associate’s degree in accounting. He was employed by Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin, in their accounting department from 1976, until his retirement in 2008. 

He enjoyed watching any sport- from basketball to track and field, golf, wrestling, and boxing. He especially loved watching Packer and Badger football games. 

Brian and Marge were blessed with four beautiful children and seven beautiful grandchildren: Daniel (Diane) Winkel and their children, Noah Winkel, Caleb Winkel, and Christian Winkel; Erinn (Jeremy) Verhulst and their children, Eli Verhulst and Sydney Verhulst; Sarah (Wally Pingel) Winkel; Catherine (Brian) Wood and her children, Tori Fritz and Hanna Lindekugel. 

Brian is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, one brother, three sisters, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, and one brother. 

Per Brian’s wishes, there will be no services.
