Carol Jean Burzinski

Carol Burzinski was welcomed into the arms of Jesus and reunited with her husband, Gordy, on March 23, 2026, at Mount View Care Center, surrounded by family and friends while under the care of Compassus Hospice in Wausau.

She was born on November 12, 1937, to the late Elmer and Martha Sickler. On November 13, 1971, she married Gordon in Rothschild, Wisconsin, beginning a life together filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Carol was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She found joy in flower gardening, fishing up north with her family, trips to the casino, and watching the birds and wildlife in her backyard. She also loved bowling and spending time with those she loved most. Carol had a big, generous heart and was always eager to lend a helping hand. She especially enjoyed assisting her daughter with school projects, from assembling treat bags for students to labeling thousands of books for Rollin’ Readers.

She is lovingly survived by her son, David Burzinski; her daughter, Lynn Burzinski; her brother, James (Tricia) of Tucson, Arizona; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Gordy, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Sickler.

Carol’s family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Mount View Care Center, as well as to dear family friends Joan, Jim, and Suzy, and to Hank, her hospice nurse, for the compassion, kindness, and exceptional care they provided to Carol and her family. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to the staff at Ascend Funeral Home, and to Pastor Lance, Pastor Jordan, and Deacon Ray for their support and guidance.

Hopefully, heaven is ready for this spunky little firecracker. We will miss you dearly, Mum.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 2809 Jelinek Avenue, Weston. Pastor Lance Hoelscher will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at Ascend. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
