Charles Warren Jehn, affectionately known as "Chuck," went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 18, 2025, surrounded by his family under the care of St. Croix Hospice at home.
Chuck was born on April 27, 1931, in the town of Maine, to the late Arthur and Alma (Schade) Jehn. In his youth, Chuck moved with his family to Wausau where he grew up just across the street from his future wife, Ruth C. Steckbauer. They were married on September 17, 1954 and spent nearly 58 years together until her passing in 2012.
Chuck's vast career spanned many jobs, though he particularly enjoyed his roles as a American Can chemist, Wausau Homes dealer, Maintenance Supervisor at D.C. Everest Senior High, and eventually, as Director of Maintenance at North Central Health Care. His devotion to his work was a testament to his incredible work ethic and determination, with a personality marked by a firm belief that there was either "Charlie's Way" or the wrong way.
Chuck's joy extended beyond his professional life; he was a physically active man well into his 90s. He had a passion for his yard, taking pride in cutting grass for Lewis Construction and cultivating a space that reflected his love for nature. An avid bird lover, Chuck found innovative ways to keep squirrels at bay while feeding the birds, showcasing his creative problem-solving skills with a hint of humor.
Survivors include his children, Dan (Kathy) Jehn, Jim (Sheri) Jehn, Mike (Patty) Jehn, and Caryl (Steve) Lewis. Grandchildren, Sara (Jason) Haumschild, Danielle (Scott) Campbell, Katie (Nick) Farrell, Justin (Heather) Jehn, Eric (Kally) Jehn, Ben (Caitlin) Jehn, Casey (Tayelor) Jehn, Tanner (Ash Barrios) Lewis, Anika (Derek) Reckner. Great-Grandchildren, Morgan, Dane, Addison, Peyton, Parker, Boone, Ryker, Amelia, Jack, Skyler, Maverick, Baby Reckner, and many four-legged grand-pets. Also, his sister-in-law, Joan Jehn.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; infant daughter Mary; brothers, Reno, George, Wally, Eddie, Ervin and a sister, Marian.
