Charmaine Joan Burnett

December 10, 1930 — February 17, 2026

Weston

Charmaine Joan (Ohrmundt) Burnett, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and a legacy rooted firmly in the great outdoors.

She was at her happiest with her hands in the dirt, tending to her garden. A week was not complete without meeting cherished friends to play bridge, going out for lunch, or attending book club. Her faith and belief in Jesus were an important part of her life. She was proud of all her various volunteer efforts throughout her life. She and her husband opened their hearts and home, taking in foster children, giving them love and a safe home.

Dogs held a special place in her heart, and she never met one she didn’t like (or one that didn’t quickly become her friend).

Her favorite place in the world was the family cabin up north on the lake. There, she found joy in fresh air, quiet mornings sipping a cup of coffee, playing games with her children and granddaughters, always with a dog at her side.

Known for her sharp wit and sassy spirit, Charmaine spoke her mind, kept people on their toes, and made life more interesting just by being herself. She was strong, independent, and unapologetically so - right to the end.

She is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and anyone lucky enough to have crossed her path. Her memory lives on in blooming gardens, loyal dogs, northern lakes, and every moment we choose to enjoy life boldly and honestly - just like she did.

Charmaine is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Edward) Klein and Jane Burnett; son, Jon Burnett; granddaughters, Abby, Emily, Mallory, Jourdan, Liz, and Madison; as well as six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Burnett; parents, Hugo and Clara (Trebus) Ohrmundt; and an infant sister.

Private Interment will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery. Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Weston is assisting the Burnett family. You may sign the family guestbook at www.ascendweston.org.
