Darlene "Dolly" Rita Campbell

Darlene “Dolly” Rita Campbell, of Weston, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Rennes Health & Rehab in Weston.

She was born on July 31, 1942, in Antigo, Wisconsin, to the late Mervin and Violet (Legro) Hitz. She married Jerry Lee Campbell on November 3, 1960, in Redwing, MN.

Dolly was a determined and independent woman who took great joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She grew up in Antigo as one of six children on the family farm, where she learned early how to cook for a large family. That gift stayed with her throughout her life, and she became known as a great cook and baker.

For nearly 30 years, Dolly was employed at K-Mart, most recently serving as a pharmacy technician. She was also a longtime member of St. Mark Catholic Parish in Rothschild.

Dolly enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures. She liked going out to eat and loved golfing and bowling with Jerry. She also enjoyed traveling with family and was proud of her purple motorcycle, a reflection of her independent spirit.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, Jerry Campbell; children, Cindy (Robin) Schneider, Rick (Vicki) Campbell, Randy (Kristine) Campbell, Candy (Pat) Keough, and Kelly (Rick) Wallace; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sue (Ed) Gisch. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Mervin, Raymond, and Danny Hitz; and sister, Marge Loper.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated by Deacon Michael Lambrecht on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 2809 Jelinek Avenue, Weston. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter, at a later date.
