Deb Wanta, age 72, of Bevent, WI passed away peacefully on the morning of May 1, 2026, after a courageous seven-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family and her devoted husband of 54 years, Ron, this August.
Deb's life was filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to those around her. She cherished spending time with Ron, whether running the bar, dabbing cards at bingo, sharing laughter over card games, or tackling projects together. She found joy in the pages of a good book, creating lasting memories with her grandchildren, and enjoying a turtle sundae. In her younger years, Deb was known for her skills as a pool shark, her prowess on the softball field, her ringers in the pits, ripping it up on three wheelers, canning chaos, and her sharp-shooting in trap. Her infectious laughter still echoes across the waters from memorable fishing trips with her beloved aunts and uncles. After retiring from the Post Office with some dear friends made, she had more time to enjoy her hobbies.
Deb is survived by her husband, Ron; her children, Clay (Kurtis), Clint (Gail), and Heidi; her siblings, Chris (Gale), Jimmy (Diana), Lynn (Steve), Lisa Wanta, Ben Z., and Teri Tranetzke; her grandchildren, Isaac, Cade, Evan, Willem, Matilda, Benton, Atlas; and one great-grandchild, Jett. Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Benedict Ziolkowski and Gladys (Yenter); her siblings, Lori (Dale) Burazin, Cory Glenda Z., Brian (Pam) Z.; and nephew and godchild, Derek Kizewski.
Debbie always put the needs of family and friends above her own. Kind, caring, considerate, and of course, funny, Deb's cheerful spirit and warm hospitality were unmatched. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
