Elexus "Lexi" Adrianna Rivera

Elexus Adrianna Rivera, known affectionately as Lexi, passed away following a tragic car accident, on August 9, 2025, at the age of 16 years old. Born on November 12, 2008, in South Carolina, Lexi blossomed into a young woman whose vibrant personality touched all who had the privilege to know her. Every encounter with Lexi was marked by her infectious energy, as she was extraordinarily outgoing and possessed an innate ability to forge friendships wherever she went. To say she never met a stranger would be an understatement; her sassy charm endeared her to everyone around her.

Lexi was not only a devoted friend but also a dedicated student, eagerly entering her junior year at Wausau East High School. She played key positions on both the volleyball and softball teams, donning number 11 with pride on the volleyball court. Lexi’s aspirations of becoming a cosmetologist reflected her artistic talents and passion for beauty, a pursuit she was destined to pursue as she took great care of her hair and loved to tan.

Her time spent with family members and friends brought her immense joy. Lexi found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life; be it relishing the flavors of her favorite Mexican restaurants with friends or indulging in retail therapy at Buckle. With a heart that pulsed for adventure, she loved being near the water, soaking in the sun and laughter. Country music, both old and new, played the soundtrack to her life, each note creating memories with family and friends. Lexi kept her Aunt Shannon on speed dial, she was her person.

A true testament to her individuality was her quirky talent of knowing how to milk her neighbor's cow, a reflection of her zest for life and willingness to embrace new experiences. Lexi’s memory will live on in the stories shared and the cherished moments she created, a timeless echo of laughter and friendship; as well as in the lives of others by being an organ donor.

She is survived by her mother, Heather Taylor; brothers, Jay Taylor and Eli Rivera; her Meme, Denise Taylor; aunt, Shannon Page; aunt Leslie (Tony) Fuller; cousins, Levi, Vanna, Taylor, and Jackson Fuller; and her boyfriend, Collin Mielke. 

She is preceded in death by her Papa, Lester Taylor. She had a special bond with her Papa and loved him very much.

A celebration of Lexi’s life will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 2809 Jelinek Avenue, Weston, followed by Words of Remembrance by family and friends.
