Gary Glenetski, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, in the home he built with his wife and faithful friend Gizzy at his side.
Gary was born on July 17, 1955, in Wausau, Wisconsin. The son to Leonard and Mary (Bursel) Glenetski. Gary married the love of his life Connie Stahl on August 7, 1993, and the couple enjoyed 32 years together. An honorable man, Gary served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps and continued his commitment through over 20 years with the Wisconsin National Guard. His dedication extended beyond service; it shaped his character, instilling in him a profound sense of loyalty and camaraderie.
Gary's vibrant personality brightened every room he entered. Known for his sharp wit and outgoing nature, he carried a joyful spirit that was infectious. Whether spending a sunny afternoon pontooning or engaging in a friendly game of Chicken Bingo on the Rainbow Flowage, he was always full of life and enthusiasm. A true sports enthusiast, Gary was a major Green Bay Packers fan, in the fall on any Packer Sunday your guaranteed to find Gary at the Packer Play House, usually out coaching the coach of course, and an avid hunter and fisherman who found peace and excitement in the great outdoors. One could often find him watching the birds and deer with a contented smile, music playing in the background, embodying a love for the simple pleasures that life offered.
Gary’s greatest joy was being surrounded by his “special friends," often with a beer in hand and his beloved wife, Connie, by his side. He treasured the company of his family and friends, giving generously of his time and heart.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Glenetski; his sons, Nicholas (April) Glenetski and Johnathan Glenetski; his stepsons, Joshua (Amanda) Maltbey and Aaron (Molly) Maltbey; his siblings, Blaine Glenetski, Joe (Gloria) Glenetski, and Cathy Baumann; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Jr., McKayla, Adelyne, Lily, Ivan, Elenore, Xander, Brennan, Adahlia, and Lenox. Gary was also the proud great-grandfather to Hendrix, Barrett and Evera. He is also survived by Gizzy his beloved dog of almost 10 years and they were best buddies; you would often see them roaming the neighborhood on the golf cart together. The family’s loss is profound, yet their gratitude for sharing in Gary’s remarkable life shines through their tears.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Mark Glenetski, David Glenetski, and Richard Glenetski, whose memories live on in the stories and hearts of those who loved Gary.
A memorial service to honor Gary's life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 12:00 Noon, at Ascend Funeral Home, 2809 Jelinek Ave. Weston, WI, 54476, with Pastor Lance Hoelscher presiding. Visitation will take place from 10:00AM until the time of service at 12:00 Noon. Full Military Honors will take place following the service.
