Suzanne Holderfield, a sweet southern spirit passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in Weston, Wisconsin, at the age of 82. Born on October 28, 1943, in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of Buster and Eugenia (Lackey) Terry. Suzanne brought joy and warmth to everyone around her.
Throughout her life, Suzanne was known for her warmth, compassion, and caring nature. As an office manager in a medical practice, she made a lasting impression on her colleagues and the many patients she supported. Yet, it was her role as a devoted mother that she held most dear. Suzanne was a source of unconditional love to her children, Renee (Charlie) Kuykendall, Holly (Chad) Popp, and Michael (Erin) Holderfield—a depth of love that they will carry with them forever. Her grandchildren, Andrew (Lauren) Holderfield, Beau(Amanda) Sponseller, Collin McCain, Dylan Holderfield, and Olivia Holderfield, were lucky to receive the boundless affection of their dear grandmother, while her great-grandchildren, Cassidy Sponseller, Peyton Sponseller, Sunni Holderfield, and Stella Holderfield, delighted in her presence and the richness of her love. Suzanne is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Suzanne was a true example of a supportive mother and friend. She had a passion for reading that flourished alongside her love for cheering on the Packers and celebrating the Dodgers’ World Series triumph - many like to think she had a hand in that win from Heaven. October held a special place in her heart, as she embraced the beauty of fall and eagerly decorated for Halloween. Her enjoyment of the snow was infectious, brightening up even the coldest of days. An ardent fan of John Wayne, Suzanne possessed a delightful collection of various items, including books, clocks, and watches, showcasing her knack for gathering treasures that told her story. At the end of the day, nothing pleased her more than enjoying a meal at A&W, relishing in life's simple pleasures.
Suzanne's spirit extended beyond her immediate family; she enriched the lives of many as a pre-school teacher earlier in life, where she touched countless children’s hearts and created lifelong connections with them. She was a mom to many, providing care and nurturing that left an undeniable mark on all who entered her classroom and family circle. Suzanne had a fond love for her cat, Miss Wiggins, as well.
Though Suzanne is survived by her loving family, she joins her parents and sisters, Corin and Betsy, who preceded her in death. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. A poignant loss echoing through her legacy, Geneva Suzanne Holderfield will be profoundly missed for her wonderful personality, her laughter, and the endless love she so freely gave.
Because Parkinson’s research was close to her heart, the family asks that, instead of flowers, donations be made to help find a cure at www.michaeljfox.org.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in her home state of Georgia. The family will share details once arrangements are finalized.
Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Weston is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences can be shared at www.ascendweston.org.
