James William Krueger, 83, of Schofield, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, following a brief illness.
Jim was born on May 23, 1943, in Illinois, to the late Alvin and Florence (Storm) Krueger.
Jim began his career working for a wholesale florist and greenery provider in Merrill. With a particular interest in sales and logistics, Jim purchased one route in 1963 and began Krueger Wholesale Florist as a small family business. Starting with servicing retail florists, Jim led the business to expand into grocery stores and event companies. Today, it has grown into one of the largest floral distribution companies in the Midwest, with loyal customers in more than 9 states.
Jim loved spending time traveling across the country with his late wife, Cyndi, and especially enjoyed saltwater and freshwater fishing, hunting, diving, and golf.
Jim is survived by his three children, Kevin (Denise) Krueger, Karri Krueger, and Kraig Krueger; brother, Dan (Chris) Krueger; and sister, Jean (John) Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of nearly 40 years, Cyndi; and siblings Ron Krueger and Gayle Stevenson.
Private services are being held.
