Jeffrey Alan Matthews

Jeffrey Alan Matthews, 67, of Wausau, WI, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026.

Born on April 23, 1959, Jeffrey was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep, lifelong passion for fishing, spending countless quiet hours on the water waiting for the next big catch. For Jeffrey, the best days were those spent outdoors, especially when surrounded by his close circle of friends, sharing laughs, stories, and good company.

Jeff served proudly in the US Army, stationed at Fort Hood Texas. In later years, he was employed at Marathon Electric, retiring in 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Janet and Bernard Matthews. He is survived by his brothers Gary (Kathryn) of Des Plaines, IL and Karl (Cheryl) of Weston, WI.

Jeffrey will be dearly missed by the friends and loved ones he leaves behind, who will always remember his easygoing spirit and love for life's moments of connection.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Kathy Slane for her care and support for Jeff in recent years.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to any of the Wisconsin Veterans Memorial cemeteries.
