Jennifer J. Heal-Burns

Jennifer J. Heal-Burns passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, following a courageous 13-year battle with cancer, at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau. She was 49 years old.

Jenny was born on December 10, 1976, to Jeff Heal and Joyce Walter in Viola, Wisconsin. The family moved to Hatley, and Jenny graduated from D.C. Everest Senior High School in 1995. Jenny then attended State College of Beauty Culture in Wausau.

For more than 10 years, Jenny worked as a hair stylist for Cost Cutters in Rothschild, where her gift for conversation was on display to everyone she took care of. She loved visiting with her clients, listening to them, especially older ladies and gentlemen, and loved being there for them like family. The bonds she formed at work would still last decades later. A self-proclaimed "people person", Jenny worked in customer service for Banner Banks in Hatley. For another 10 years, she was known as a friendly individual who would always go above and beyond what was expected of her.

In 2013, Jenny was diagnosed with liposarcoma. As she would reflect on her diagnosis, she was not afraid. Never wanting any attention, her great sense of humor gained the affection of so many friends who admired how she handled life with her unique personality.

On October 22, 2016, she married Christofer L. Burns, and moved to Plainfield. Their hobbies together included loving their pets, fishing, rummage sales, gardening, and canning and selling their own pickles. There, she worked her favorite job at Union Telephone, meeting great co-workers who turned into great friends. Christofer passed away on August 29, 2025, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Jenny is survived by her parents, Joyce (Clyde) Patterson and Jeff (Dawn) Heal; brother, Jay (Stacy) Heal; special nephew, Blake Heal; as well as her great friends, Heather Tulickas and Trudy Wanichek. She is preceded in death by her husband, Christofer.

Words of Remembrance for Jenny will begin at 1:00PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 2809 Jelinek Avenue, Weston, WI 54476. An Open House Gathering will continue after the words until 3:00PM at Ascend. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jenny's honor to the Aspirus Hospice House. 

Jenny's last message to everyone she loved and cared for is to "Be Kind".
