John L. Kowalski

John Louis Kowalski, 64, passed away on December 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 28, 1960, John lived a life marked by hardship, strength, and an extraordinary capacity for change.

John’s early years were shaped by challenges that left a lasting imprint. He left school young, became a father early, and spent many years navigating addiction, health struggles, and homelessness. These were not chapters he hid from; he spoke of them openly and without shame. The resilience it took to survive those years became one of his defining qualities.

In his later years, John grew steadier, wiser, and more grounded, working each day to become a better man than he had been before. He found peace in life’s simple joys—especially the hours spent fishing by the water, the moments he shared with family and the companionship of his beloved cat “Ticket”, who brought him comfort and happiness. He carried deep, enduring love for each of his children, even when relationships were distant or complicated. 

John is survived by his brothers, James and Anthony; his six children, Billy(his lady), Jennifer (Jon), Jessica (Brandon), Amber (Jesse), Kayla (Mike), and Skylar (Jasmine); his two bonus children Rikki & Crystal as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois, and his brother, Jay. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, loved him, and witnessed the life he worked so hard to rebuild.

A celebration of life and final arrangements will be announced at a later date.
