Hatley

John S. Petroski, passed away peacefully at his home in Hatley on January 10, 2026, under the care of Compassus Hospice.

He was born on January 6, 1952, in Wausau, Wisconsin, son of the late Felix and Margaret (Publ) Petroski.

John dedicated over 40 years of his professional life to Gordon Aluminum. He had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying the simple pleasures of making firewood, hunting, and fishing. John cherished his time spent in the woods, particularly with his special friends Bill and Jody Wodora, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

John's life, however, carried the heavy heartache of losing his cherished son, Adam Petroski. Adam’s passing left an indelible mark on John's spirit, shaping his journey in profound ways.

He is survived by his brother, Michael (Gloria) Petroski of Edgar, as well as special friends Bill and Jody Wodora of Hatley, Ann Wodora of Hatley, and Cheryl Rozak of Mosinee. Additionally, John leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Adam, brother, Dan Petroski, and sister, Patricia (Michael) Proctor.

His family wishes to thank Compassus Hospice for their care in John's final weeks.

Private services will be held in the spring. Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Weston is assisting the family with arrangements. You may leave messages and condolences for his family at www.ascendweston.org.
