John "Johnny T" Timm

John “Johnny T” Timm, 74, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 28, 2026, in Merrill, WI.

John was born on February 3, 1952, to Edward and Mable Timm. He was raised in Montello and spent many years there. During his high school years, he was active on both the wrestling and football teams, proudly earning the nickname “Ham.”

After graduating from Montello High School in 1971, John went into the family business, joining his father, Ed, in running a grocery store. John remained an entrepreneur throughout his life, owning many restaurants and bars.

He was also a musician and was a drummer with several local bands, including The Back Door Society, The Union, and Wild Fire. He remained true to his love of music by DJ’ing for many years.

John leaves behind his wife, Rae Marie Timm; and brother, Richard (Barbara) Timm; his children, Michelle (Jody) Smith, Mishelle (Ryan) O’Shasky, Amber (Todd) Kapke, Katie (Michael) Bivins, RJ Horst, Melissa Timm, and Jonathan Timm; his grandchildren, Trevor, Aria, Kali, Casey, Justin, Sabrena, Mitchell, Ray, Shaleah, Shannon, Harper, and Jackson.

He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mable Timm; sister, Joyce Timm; brother, Edward Timm; and sister-in-law, Helen Timm.

Cremation services are complete, and his remains will be scattered privately.
