Joseph Lewis Johnson

Joseph L. Johnson, born on November 10th, 1947 (77), passed peacefully on to the Lord on December 3rd, 2024.

Those that have had the privilege to meet Joe, please know that is a true blessing that we hope you cherish. He brought so much to the lives around him and carried a faith deeper than many could fathom. Joe continued to beat the odds in his battle with cancer and fought until the end. Joe will be greatly missed.

Joe leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Jean; Nicci (daughter), Marshall (son), Justin (son-in-law), Aubrey (granddaughter), Tynae (future daughter-in-law), his sister Lueretha, and his brother James. Preceded by his mother Lizzie, Sam (brother), Willie (brother), Sim (brother), Jessie (brother), Lizzette (niece), and Joe (nephew). 

We invite you to celebrate Joe’s life with us on December 14th, 2024, at Covenant Community Presbyterian Church, 1806 Weston Ave. Schofield, WI 54476. Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 AM, with a memorial service taking place at 10:00 AM followed by a meal.

In lieu of flowers, Joe’s family asks that you contribute to The American Cancer Society or The Make-A-Wish Foundation in his name. 

The family would like to thank Joe’s care team from Aspirus for their incredible efforts to provide him comfort through this process. Thank you to Pastor Jim Gates and the church family at Covenant Community Presbyterian Church, as well as Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care for their guidance and support. Thank you to all friends and family for the outpouring of love & compassion. Joe’s legacy will live on in all of us.
