Marilyn Belott

Marilyn Graveen Belott, 92, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Cedar Creek Manor, Kronenwetter, WI.

Marilyn was born on October 31, 1933, in Antigo, to the late Marcus and Hazel (Heller) Graveen. She was the second of five sisters. She graduated from Antigo High School in 1951, and on August 14, 1954, she married Jim Belott in Antigo. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2008. Marilyn retired from Wausau Insurance in 1992 after more than 30 years of service.

Before Alzheimer’s robbed her of her memories, Marilyn enjoyed snowmobiling with Rothschild Urbanaires, visiting casinos and traveling to Arizona and Colorado to visit family. She was a skilled seamstress and loved to knit and crochet. Marilyn also loved working in her garden and doing crosswords. 

Marilyn is survived by her children: Jamie (Steve) Gilbertson, Schofield, Jody (Pete) Rucinski, Grand Junction, CO, and Jeff (Beth) Belott, Rothschild; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law Joan Adkins, Oshkosh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jim; and her four sisters Lois (Ira) Hurlbut, Betty (Clayton) Bailey, Connie (Jack) Grabowsky, and Sharon (James) Smith.

A funeral service for Marilyn will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 2809 Jelinek Avenue, Weston, WI 54476. Pastor Lance Hoelscher will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:30 PM until the time of service at Ascend. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marilyn’s honor can be directed to the family or made to the Humane Society of Marathon County or the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to the entire staff at Cedar Creek Manor for the loving care and support they gave to Marilyn and her family during her time there.
