Mark Steven Schaberg

September 28, 1965 — September 4, 2024

Mark Steven Schaberg, 58, passed at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in the early hours of Wednesday, September 4th, 2024.

Born on September 28th, 1965, in Kalamazoo, MI, Mark always called the upper Midwest his home, living in Stevens Point, Green Bay, and DeForest in Wisconsin, Chicago in Illinois, and Nadeau in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula during his lifetime. Following his high school graduation in 1983, Mark enlisted with the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged as a decorated veteran in 1998. Mark married Kimberly Schwab on July 14th, 1990, and together they reached 32 years of marriage just prior to Kim’s passing in August 2022. Mark is remembered as relaxed, quiet, honest, and loving; as a dedicated fan of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Pink Floyd; as a grill master, movie lover, and “baby whisperer;” and as a man happiest while sitting amongst his family up at The Farm in the U.P.

Mark was welcomed into the peace of death by his wife Kimberly Schwab-Schaberg, his father Nicholas Schaberg, and his mother-in-law Lee (Schaefer) Schwab.

Mark is remembered in this life by his children Rebecca (Ethan) Belden and Samuel (Kristin Schulist) Schaberg; his mother Cheryl (Robert) Jean and father-in-law Dennis Schwab; his siblings Gavin (Jenny Ludeman) Schaberg, Corey (Megan) Jean, and Molly Jean; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and colleagues.

A celebration of life will happen at a later date. The family invites anyone interested in sharing condolences or memories to do so freely, whether it be openly or privately, to keep Mark’s name and memory alive.

The family gives their sincerest thanks to Aspirus Wausau Hospital Palliative Care Unit, as well as Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Weston.
