Mary Kaehne, age 66, of Weston, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at her home on Monday, June 29, 2026, with her companion, Bella, her German Shepard, by her side.
Born on February 27, 1960, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Mary’s journey was marked by unwavering compassion, an ardent love of learning, and a steadfast dedication to those she held dear.
Mary distinguished herself academically, earning double bachelors, an achievement emblematic of her intellectual curiosity and relentless pursuit of knowledge. Her educational path laid a foundation for a vocation that would become not just her profession, but truly, her calling.
As a cherished nurse with Aspirus, Mary embodied the essence of care and advocacy. Her devotion to the well-being of her patients transcended duty; she brought a gentle, healing touch into every interaction, and her colleagues and patients alike felt buoyed by her compassion and unwavering commitment. To Mary, nursing was as much an art as it was a science a way to bridge empathy with expertise, and the community she served will long remember her for this rare gift.
Mary’s passions extended far beyond the walls of her workplace. She was an avid reader, deeply engaged in holistic medicine, exploring the benefits of essential oils, and continually seeking knowledge that could enrich both her life and the lives of others. Her love for animals was evident in the affection she poured onto her beloved dogs and cats, whose companionship brought her great joy. Bird watching became a source of serenity and wonder, each encounter with nature nurturing her spirit. She also had a lifelong appreciation for jewelry, delighting in the beauty and craftsmanship of each unique piece.
Mary is survived by her beloved daughter, Starr Kaehne, and her treasured granddaughter, Emily Kaehne, both of whom were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her siblings; Nancy, Sue, Marc, Ron, and Bill, and her good friend Edward. She is preceded in death by her mother.
