Maryann Halverson, age 73, of Summit Lake, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital with her family by her side.
Maryann was born on March 25, 1953, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ervin and Lucille (Neu) Rupple. She was a woman whose life was marked by love, warmth, and an extraordinary spirit that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Maryann was deeply devoted to her family, and her greatest joy resided in her grandchildren. Known for having the biggest heart, she was often described as a true ray of sunshine in the lives of those around her. Her affection extended beyond her human family to her beloved animals; she had a special bond with her horses, donkey, and dogs. An enduring image of Maryann is one of her being barefoot outdoors, embracing the simple, unpretentious pleasures of life. Her kindness and generous nature made her a wonderful person, admired and cherished by friends and family alike.
Maryann is lovingly survived by her husband, Rodney Halverson, her daughter Heather (Ben) Kessler, her son Jason (Kaylyn) Halverson, and her grandchildren: Emma Kessler, Marley Halverson, and Memphis Halverson, who were truly the light of her life. Her family circle also includes her siblings, Ervin (Sandy), Gloria (Don), George, Alvin (Sue), sister-in-law Joanne, Jerry (Terry), and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Together, they carry forward the loving legacy Maryann created.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and siblings, Ann, Alan, and Judy. Their memories remain cherished and forever part of Maryann’s story.
Maryann Halverson’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and the simple joys that make a life meaningful. She will be remembered always for her warm spirit and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends.
A celebration of Maryann's life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Upper Pavilion(C) - Veterans Memorial Park (N8375 Park Rd, Deerbrook, WI 54424). Please wear blue, Mom's favorite color, as we honor the life of Maryann.
