With hearts both broken and deeply grateful for the gift of his life, we announce that Nicholas James Bierman, 42, of Wausau, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, entering into the presence of his Lord and Savior. He was surrounded by the compassionate and tender care of his devoted wife and caregiver, Sarah, along with the extraordinary team at Interim Hospice.
Nick was born on March 14, 1983, to James Bierman and Lisa (Breyer) Fischer. He attended Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School, where he proudly competed in football, basketball, and baseball all four years, graduating in 2001. He went on to earn his degree from Northcentral Technical College in Autobody Industrial Paint and CNC Machining. Nick dedicated many years of loyal service to Greenheck Fan Corporation in Schofield, where he was known for his strong work ethic, steady skill, and unwavering reliability.
Above all, Nick was a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy was his beloved wife, Sarah, and their five boys: Cody (Cienna) Graf of Montana, parents of Abel, Clayton, and Malia Rose; Joseph Graf of Wisconsin; Kory (Katie) Graf of Wisconsin; and Colten and Beau, who remain at home under the loving care of their mother. His family was his pride, his purpose, and his greatest accomplishment.
Nick found peace and renewal in the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping, especially at Moose Lake, Mud Lake, Harrison Hills, and countless other treasured waters and woods. Whether casting a line at sunrise, walking quietly through the trees, or sitting beside a campfire surrounded by laughter, Nick found joy in God’s creation and in sharing those moments with family and friends.
Nick is further survived by his grandmother, Beverly Bierman, Birnamwood; parents, James (Trina) Bierman and Lisa (Randal) Fischer, Birnamwood, WI; his sisters, Alison Fischer, California; Jenna (Ryan Bune) Bierman and their daughters Brynn and Adalynn, Wisconsin; Miranda Morris and her son Grayson, Illinois; Melanie Fischer, Eau Claire, WI; and Rebecca Bierman and her daughters, Rayah, Avery, and Carmella, Birnamwood, WI.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Diane Frazier, Wausau; brother-in-law Paul (Keely) Chadha and their children Emmeline, Dylan, Tennessee, and Vaughn, South Dakota; and many more loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul Bierman Jr., Glen and Virginia Breyer, and Philip and Edna Fischer; his uncle, Dennis Clark; and his cousin, Garrett VanderGrinten.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Bible Truth Chapel, 1600 N. 1st Avenue, Wausau. David Hart will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 2809 Jelinek Avenue, Weston, and again from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nick's wife, Sarah Bierman, for the continued care, support, and future needs of their children.
