R. Ross Plant Jr., of Kronenwetter, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at his home.
Ross was born on May 24, 1930, to the late Russell and Eleanore (Scheel) Plant in Wausau, WI. He married the love of his life N. June Zich on April 12, 1952. June died earlier this year. They were married almost 74 years.
Ross worked for American Can/James River for 35 years in mostly supervisory positions. He worked in Wausau WI, Chambersburg PA, and Neenah WI.
Ross, along with June, loved to fish and travel. They traveled to Canada for forty years to go fishing and enjoyed great success. Ross and June also spent many winters in Florida after Ross' retirement. They were also able to travel to many other destinations in the US.
Ross enjoyed woodworking, especially carving. He carved a collection of whimsical wooden figures that were displayed in the house.
Ross and June were never without a dog or two by their side. They had dogs of all sizes from small terriers to Great Danes throughout their married life.
He is survived by his brother, Wayne (Judy) Plant and former sister-in-law, Diane Plant and his children; son, Michael (Cynthia) Plant; and daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Jahns, Susan (Rick) Paszkot, and Barb (Keith) Friedlein; grandchildren, Kelly (Wade) Puntney, Christopher (Kirby) Plant, Matthew Plant, Brian (Amy) Jahns, Andy (Carly) Jahns, Aimee (Kyle Buehler) Paszkot, Jonathan (Jaewoo) Paszkot, David (Piper) Pozorski, Laura Friedlein, and Lucas Friedlein; great-grandchildren, Lana, Ethan, Tenley, Harlow, Henry, Violet, Emily, William, Ryan, Rhys, Lucy, Vincent, and Trinity. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife June.
A memorial service for both Ross and June will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., at Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 2809 Jelinek Avenue, Weston. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
