Rickie Geno

January 27, 1953 — January 18, 2026

Rothschild

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Rickie Geno, affectionately known as Rick, who passed away on January 18, 2026, in Wausau, Wisconsin, at the age of 72.

Born on January 27, 1953, in Waukon, Iowa, the son of Leonard & Ruth (Hager) Geno. Rick was blessed with a remarkable sense of humor. His love for life was reflected in his many hobbies and interests. An outdoorsman at heart, Rick found immense joy in hunting, fishing, and camping. He was always eager to share these experiences with family and friends. He was also a die-hard sports fan, unwaveringly cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Family was at the core of Rick’s being. He took immense pride in his ability to fix anything but, more importantly, he cherished the time spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. Rick's legacy of love and dedication will forever be in their hearts. He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Geno, and their daughters, Julie (Jim) Lueck, Angie (Ben) Boese, Allie (James) Michka, and Amber Geno. Rick’s spirit lives on in his grandchildren: Trent (fiancé Alaina Rupple) Geno, Erykah Robinson, Bria Robinson, Autumn Lueck, Josh Boese, Jon Boese, Aurora Boese, Noah Michka, and Luna Michka, each of whom brought him boundless joy. Rick is also remembered by his loving sisters, Ivy Saenz, Julie (John) Geno and Marsha (Annette Kronberg) Geno. Rick is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, his closest friends, "Shaggy", Dennis Lynch, and Dennis Bradley, and many of his other hunting and fishing buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  Leonard and Ruth Geno, his brother, Cliff Geno, and brother-in-law, Ben Saenz.

A memorial service to honor Rick's life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, 1351 Grand Avenue, Schofield, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM, with a lunch to follow.

Rick leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience, and while he may no longer walk among us, his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
