Roger Sidney Buckaloo

June 25, 1936 — May 29, 2025

Stevens Point

Roger Sidney Buckaloo, a beloved fixture in the lives of many, was born on June 25, 1936, in Bethany, Missouri. He graced this world with his presence for nearly 89 years before passing on May 29, 2025, in Weston, Wisconsin. Throughout his remarkable journey, Roger worked as a hydro-engineer, pouring his craft into various companies and leaving an indelible mark on the industry. His dedication to his profession was matched only by his vibrant spirit and infectious personality.

Those who knew Roger would describe him as fun-loving, hard-working, and outgoing—a man who could light up any room with his smile. His passion extended beyond his career; he found joy in fixing up cars, embarking on household projects, and continuously improving his home. Each task woven into the fabric of his life was an expression of his love and determination. He married the love of his life Virginia Klatt on February 5, 1955, and the couple enjoyed 59 wonderful years together before her passing in 2014. He was her steadfast support in Buckaloo's Antiques and carried on the business until shortly before his death.

Roger's family was always at the center of his world. He leaves behind his sons, Terence (Julie) Buckaloo and Clinton (Mary) Buckaloo, both of whom carry forward his legacy with love and dedication. His warmth further encompasses his grandchildren, Chris Buckaloo and Trudy (Brandon) McGill, and Jeff (Heather) Buckaloo, who will always cherish the lessons learned and the laughter shared with their grandfather. He also leaves five great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Additionally, Roger is survived by his dear brother, Neal (Tiina) Buckaloo, and his loving sisters, Carol (John) Terry and Marilyn (Tom) Harris, each a testament to the loving family that surrounded him throughout his life.

Roger now joins his beloved wife, Virginia, his parents, his great-grandson, Austin Buckaloo, and brother Bryan Buckaloo who preceded him in death. Their absence is felt deeply, but the memories shared, and the bonds forged across generations remain vibrant in the hearts of all who knew him.

In reflecting on Roger's life, we celebrate not only the professional achievements but also the love, laughter, and camaraderie he brought into the lives of family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy—imbued with kindness, creativity, and joy—will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. Roger Sidney Buckaloo will be missed, but his spirit endures in the cherished memories of those who loved him deeply.

A graveside service for Roger will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon, IL at 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Roger's Life will be held following the interment service at Basil Tree Ristorante in Dixon, IL.
