With broken hearts we announce the passing of Rosemary “Dolly” Farchione, who peacefully passed away in her sleep at the age of 94. Although her passing was sudden and unexpected, we find comfort in knowing she experienced no pain and was at home, surrounded by family, just as she would have wanted.
Rosemary was a proud Italian wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the heart and soul of her family. She was and remains the matriarch, the foundation upon which generations were built, and the reason so many of us understand the true meaning of unconditional love, loyalty, and family. Her family was her life’s greatest accomplishment and her greatest joy. She devoted herself completely to those she loved, protecting them fiercely and loving them without limits.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Dominic Farchione, age 95. Together, they were approaching an incredible milestone of 75 years of marriage. Anyone who knew them together knew that there is no love greater than theirs.
She also leaves behind her loving children: Katherine Miller; Debbie Habel and her husband, Donald; Dominic Farchione and his wife, Veronica; Deann Farchione and her fiancé,m, Kyle; and Michelle Ruenger, whom she lovingly embraced as her adopted daughter. Rosemary was also blessed with 10 cherished grandchildren and 10 adored great-grandchildren, all of whom were the center of her world.
She is also survived by her beloved brother, Tony Gianfermi, whom she loved dearly.
To know Rosemary was to know a woman with a heart larger than life. She loved people and her warmth made everyone feel like a long time friend regardless of who they were. She’s known for chatting on the phone for hours, her warm sense of humor, and her ability to turn around anyone’s bad day. Rosemary was never negative, and always knew the right things to say. She was always the last one to hang up, never ending a conversation without countless “I love you’s.”
Rosemary’s happy place was her kitchen, full of family laughing at the table for hours. She was an incredible cook and would be often found leaning over the kitchen sink cutting up vegetables in her hand. Some of our greatest memories were made gathered around her table, sharing stories, laughter, and meals prepared with love.
She loved her Lifetime movies and classic films and was quite the night owl, often staying up far later than anyone else. She was famous for trying to convince her daughter to pull all-nighters with her, refusing to let the evening end before one more conversation, one more movie, or one more laugh. She also loved her hard candies and you could always find a stash in her purse.
Her kitchen table, her voice on the phone, her stories, her traditions, and her unwavering love brought generations together. She taught us that family is not simply something you have. It is something you protect, cherish, and hold close every day. She was our anchor, our storyteller, our protector, and our guide.
While we mourn her loss, we find comfort in knowing she has been reunited in Heaven with those she loved so dearly. She joins her beloved son, James Farchione; her brothers, Michael Gianfermi, Donald Gianfermi, Frank Gianfermi, Eddie Gianfermi, Johnny Gianfermi; and her sister Joann Murney. She has also reunited with her cherished mother, Lucy Gianfermi, and her dad, Arduino; her beloved mother-in-law, Marietta and father-in-law, Vincenzo. We can only imagine the joyful reunion that welcomed her home.
Losing her leaves a space that can never truly be filled. Yet her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to be loved by her. We will hear her in our conversations, see her in our traditions, and feel her presence always.
We miss her deeply. We love her endlessly. And we will carry her memory with us always.
Rest in peace, Nana. The family you loved so fiercely will continue to honor you, cherish you, and keep your spirit alive for generations to come.
