Sandy Wiles

April 22, 1956 — September 11, 2026

Wausau

Sandra Lynn Wiles, affectionately known as Sandy, passed away on September 11, 2026, in Wausau, Wisconsin.

She was born on April 22, 1956, in Waukegan, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Lucille (Frampton) Brenneman. Sandy will be remembered as a loving, caring, and outgoing woman whose life was marked by compassion for others. She worked as a CNA, a role that reflected the natural kindness and generosity she carried throughout her life. Caring for people was not only part of her work, but part of who she was, and she took great care of those around her, both on the job and within her family.

She found joy in many simple and meaningful pleasures. Sandy enjoyed watching old movies, cop shows, Heartland, and Reba. She was a great caregiver who loved helping with the grandkids and treasured the time she spent with them. She loved her dogs and found peace and happiness in the natural world, enjoying time outdoors, feeding the deer, and admiring full moons, often spending time talking to “Mr. Moon.” Her love of nature was joined by an appreciation for the color purple, a detail that brought brightness to her life.

In her younger years, Sandy enjoyed horseback riding, camping, spending time at the lake, and making candles. She also loved to fish, especially using hotdogs and corn, a memory that will bring a smile to those who knew her well.

Sandy’s life was defined by warmth, generosity, and a deep care for others. She leaves behind memories of devotion, laughter, and comfort, and she will be remembered with love by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 34 years Gerald Wiles, her children Peter Vernon, Steven Vernon and Dana (Michael) Cowan. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Dylan Vernon, Lauryn Cowan, Jordyn Cowan and Ryan Vernon; her siblings; Denise (David) Feivor and Raymond Brenneman, brother-in-law's Jim Wiles and Butch (Dale) Wiles and her sister-in-law Julie Netland. Sandy will not be forgotten by her four-legged companion Maxx.

She is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Kelsey Cowan, sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Bob Spain, niece Jody Juckem, parents-in-law Wally and Sophie Wiles, sister-in-law Linda Brenneman and brother-in-law Marty Netland.

A celebration of Sandy's life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandy's name to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
