Scott Durkee, age 63, of Mosinee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Aspirus Hospice House surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Scott was born on April 22, 1963, in Wausau, Wisconsin, the son of Wallace and Marjorie (Hoskin) Durkee. A proud graduate of Wausau West High School in 1981, Scott's commitment to education continued as he earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Upper Iowa University in 2007. His professional journey was distinguished by over 24 years of dedicated service at United Healthcare, where his work ethic, positive attitude, and humor left a lasting impression on co-workers and customers alike. He married the love of his life Jeaninne Rux in 2006.

Scott's 23 years of service in the Army Reserve, culminating in the rank of Sergeant, reflected his deep sense of duty and discipline. Those who served with him remember a man of integrity, courage, and steadfast loyalty.

Beyond his professional achievements and military service, Scott was known for his infectious sense of humor and the big smile that greeted everyone he met. He was a passionate supporter of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Wisconsin Badgers. He was often seen cheering with a bottle of Miller Lite in hand. His love of the outdoors drew him to camping adventures shared with friends, family, and his beloved dogs. Music, a lifelong passion, provided rhythm and joy to his everyday life. Scott sang and played bass guitar in several bands including Taceyon, 3 on Fire, Kliff Klavon, After You, and 5 Mile Scream.

One of Scott’s proudest accomplishments was his remarkable bowling career, during which he scored an incredible fourteen perfect games, earning him a well-deserved induction into the United States Bowling Congress Wausau Hall of Fame in March 2024. This honor speaks not only to his skill but to the dedication and perseverance that defined his approach to life.

Scott is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jeaninne Durkee; his collies Edith Ann and Rogan, his sister Gena Geng, brothers Dave (Kay) Durkee, Doug Durkee, and Dale (Renee) Durkee; and brother-in-law Mike (Jan) Rux and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his beloved dogs, Brady, Casey, Tucker, Jordy and Blaze.
