Sharon Marie Jagler

July 30, 1934 — September 4, 2025

Wausau

Sharon Marie Jagler, the daughter of Woodrow and Mildred Groff, was born on July 30, 1934, in Wausau, Wisconsin. She was called to her heavenly home on September 4, 2025, at the age of 91.

Sharon attended the original Franklin grade school, spent part of junior high in Minocqua, and graduated from Wausau High School in 1952. She met the love of her life, John Jagler Jr., while roller skating, and they were married September 18, 1954. Together they raised 3 children. In 1972, Sharon and John purchased Townline Market where they worked side by side building a well-known meat market, later joined by their sons. Sharon and John were known to have awesome pig roasts and loved to entertain family and friends. She was a talented cook, sewed many of the clothes she and her daughter wore and knitted dozens of mittens and scarves for her children and grandchildren. She also volunteered in schools and at her church and loved tending to her gardens. Sharon and John enjoyed traveling together, and after John‘s passing, she continued to travel with friends. She was a faithful member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, where she especially enjoyed her Bible Study group.

Sharon is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Barb (Bruce) Reynolds; son, Dave (Sandy); six grandchildren, Lisa (Mark) Hieronimus, Matt (Leslie) Anklam, Jon (Tara) Jagler, Jen Davidson, Tyler (Torie) Jagler, Sierra Dahm; two step grandchildren, Jennifer Imhoff (Jordon Krause), Tyler (Becky) Imhoff; thirteen great-grandchildren; Luke, Brianna, Callie, Emily, Conner, Kylie, Brynn, Aubrey, Aaron, Levi, Willow, Brooks and Crosby; four great step grandchildren, Cashton, Conner, Sean and Quinn. She is also survived by brother Bob Groff; sisters-in-law, Shirley Jagler, and Marlene Jagler; brother-in-law Dennis Jagler and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jagler Jr.; son, Michael; son-in-law, Brian; sister, Kay Zank; brothers-in-law, Gary Zank, Elroy Jagler, Richard Jagler, Eugene Jagler; and sister-in-law, Gloria Jagler.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 600 Stevens Drive, Wausau. Pastor Eric Hauan will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. A lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Inurnment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Town of Texas, after the lunch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Marathon County Humane Society as Sharon dearly loved her dogs.

Sharon was a kindhearted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

May Sharon rest in peace and may we all take comfort in the promise of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory now and forever!

Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Weston is assisting the Jagler family with arrangements. Condolences may be shared at www.ascendweston.org.

God saw you were getting tired

And a cure was not to be

So he put His arms around you

And whispered, “Come to me”.

A golden heart stopped beating

Hard-working hands now rest.

God broke our hearts

To prove to us

He only takes the best.
