Steven Wimmer

Steven Scott Wimmer was born on May 30, 1958, in Wausau, Wisconsin, and passed away on September 30, 2025.

Steven dedicated many years of his adult life to working as a dump truck driver for Wimmer Granite and as an installer with Skyview Sunrooms and Glass. His craftsmanship can be seen in significant projects such as the Wauwatosa Children's Hospital and Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, MN. A significant project included replacing the skylight for the Pensacola Naval Air Museum and Naval Station during Hurricane Ivan, showcasing his ability to rise to challenges.

As a United States Navy veteran, Steven brought the same commitment to service into his everyday life. He was known for being an excellent tinkerer, particularly when it came to small engines. Overcoming challenges that came with his disability, he adapted his life in a way that showed his strength and creativity.

Steven also had a special knack for connecting with dogs. He was referred to as a dog whisperer, using his natural ability to communicate and train dogs with special tricks. He will be especially missed by his loyal companion of many years, Simba.

He is survived by his brothers, Myron "Mike" (Bonnie), Ronald (Joan), Terry (Diane), Randy, and Greg Wimmer; sisters, Sherry (Ron) Burnett and Vickie (Brad) Fehl; brother-in-law, John Dupuis; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothy Wimmer; sister, Bonnie Dupuis; and sister-in-law, Shelley Wimmer.

According to his wishes, there will be no formal memorial service for Steve.
