Wilbur H. Trowbridge, Jr. of Kronenwetter, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, at the age of 93. Wil was born on April 20, 1933, in Jackson, MI, the eldest son of Wilbur Sr. and Hazel (Wiley) Trowbridge. On September 19, 1964, he married Margaret Andrews in Racine, WI. Together, they had three children: David, Todd, and Susan.
Wilbur proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, having been stationed in Korea and Japan. After his honorable discharge from military service, he attended Michigan State University earning a bachelor's degree in business administration. He began a long career in manufacturing in 1961 at J.I. Case Company, first in Racine, WI, and later as purchasing manager in Schofield, WI. He later finished his career at Central Fabricators in Weston. After retirement, Wil continued to serve his community in many ways, through his long-standing membership in Lions Club International.
In his free time and throughout his life, Wil enjoyed playing and teaching his sons the game of golf - even winning his J.I. Case league one year at Indianhead Golf Course.
Wil led a life of quiet strength, integrity, and hard work. He valued time with his family, friends, and of course his beloved pets. He will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Kronenwetter, WI; his children, David (Michelle) of Madison WI, Todd (Renee) of Marathon WI, and Susan (Nicholas) Hefling of Green Bay, WI; and grandkids, Sidney, Ashlyn, Lauren, Connor, Colin, Ruby and Eli. He is further survived by one sister, Ruth Miller of Pleasant Lake, MI, and many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Trowbridge; sister-in-law, Jane; and brother-in-law, Jerald Miller. Per Wil’s wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wil’s name may be made to the Wausau Lions Club.
