William R. Hagenbucher, "Bill", entered the arms of his loving Savior on May 13, 2025, following a courageous two-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia and a recent cancer diagnosis, under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wood Aven Health & Rehab in Wausau. Born on September 30, 1948, to the late Raymond and Rose (Doheney) Hagenbucher, Bill lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and cherished relationships.
Bill's career was a testament to his strong work ethic, beginning at the Cloverbelt Co-Op where he sold farming equipment, an endeavor that remarkably earned him a special trip to Jamaica. He transitioned into a driving role with Wausau Carriers, eventually moving into management on the east coast. Throughout these years, Bill developed lasting friendships and enjoyed the camaraderie he found on the road. He concluded his professional journey as a local driver for Crystal Finishing, leaving behind memories of kindness and dedication.
A wonderful husband to Jeannie (Lund) Hagenbucher, whom he met during their high school years at D.C. Everest Senior High, their romance flourished after a memorable introduction where Jeannie paid a friend a quarter to introduce them. Almost 58 years of marriage were filled with love, laughter, and mutual support, highlighted by their shared passion for corvettes. Together, they were members of a Corvette club in Sheboygan, enjoying numerous trips to Road America.
Family was the cornerstone of Bill's life, and he took immense pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. His warmth, compassion, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband, a loving father, and an adoring grandfather, with a special knack for showing his emotions and expressing love. He and Jeannie made it a priority to support their family at every turn, attending graduations, performances, and other milestones with pride. His gentle nature shone through in his love for God, his family, his friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jeannie Hagenbucher, Rothschild; sons Brad Hagenbucher, Wausau and Chad (Dana) Hagenbucher, Plover; grandchildren, Zachary Hagenbucher, Taylor (Aaron) Passow, and Isaac (Kristin) Hagenbucher, along with great-grandchildren Alice & Rowan and Maria & Muhammad. He is further survived by his brother, Edward (Kathy) Hagenbucher, sisters-in-law Carol Hagenbucher and Linda (Bruce) Hoss; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jon "Paul" Hagenbucher; and siblings, Elinor Berndt, John Hagenbucher, Tom Hagenbucher, and Jerry (Betty) Hagenbucher.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson Street, Weston. Rev. Raymond Connor will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Town of Norrie.
The family extends their gratitude to the staffs of Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wood Aven, and Aspirus Hospice for their tender care along the way. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the International Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Foundation in Bill's honor.
