Yuying B. Lo, a remarkable and one-of-a-kind person with a pure heart and pure soul, whose vibrant spirit radiated warmth and compassion to everyone around him, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Wausau Manor, surrounded by his loving family.
Yuying was born on March 24, 2003, in Appleton, Wisconsin. The son of Shwa Lo and Mai Thor. He is leaving behind a profound legacy etched in the hearts of his family and friends. From an early age, Yuying nurtured a fervent dream of becoming a firefighter, a testament to his courageous heart and desire to serve his community. His journey began at Wausau East High School, where he not only excelled academically but also cultivated a rich array of interests and friendships. His natural exuberance made him a beloved figure among his peers, where he was celebrated for being caring, fun, and outgoing.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Yuying found solace in various hobbies that complemented his zest for life. His love for Pho, a favorite dish, often brought joy to the dinner table, where laughter resonated in the company of family. Fishing with his grandpa and uncles was another cherished pastime, allowing him to forge meaningful memories that would last a lifetime. Music infused his life with rhythm and joy, while the color blue brought a sense of tranquility to his vibrant existence. Above all, Yuying was a devoted family member, embracing the role of the second oldest sibling with great pride. He stood as the first man of the house, a guardian figure who helped raise his brothers and sisters. Yuying dedicated himself to ensuring their well-being and happiness, always willing to lend a helping hand. His boundless support kept his family united, and his unwavering presence was a source of strength for those around him.
An active member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints, Yuying's faith in God shaped his character, inspiring him to volunteer tirelessly within his community. His commitment to service revealed the depth of his compassion. Yuying’s nurturing spirit and genuine kindness touched lives beyond his immediate family, making indelible marks in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.
Yuying is survived by his loving mother, Mai Thor, his siblings, Shaina, Nai, Summer, Kai, and Selena, as well as Eli. His absence is keenly felt, yet his memories and the love he fostered will forever resonate in the lives he has impacted.
Though his time on this earth was fleeting, Yuying’s legacy of love, service, and dedication to family remains a testament to the extraordinary individual he was. May his spirit continue to inspire those he left behind to embody the same caring nature and commitment to community that he so passionately demonstrated throughout his life.
