Who out there really wants to have a conversation about funerals? They’re somber times in our lives, not really something a society tends to focus on. Death happens, we’re forced to respond, and then we’re left to move on. Add the weight of big decisions that you may or may not be prepared to make as well as a bill you may or may not be prepared to pay. It’s a delicate situation, and if you’re not surrounded by the right people or have adequate support, chances are what comes next is anything but a positive chapter of your story. But, what if there were a group of individuals who have recognized there’s room for change? That have walked through these chapters with or as grieving families and wanted more – wanted better? What if there was a funeral home that was designed to anticipate the needs not being met for families long before it becomes a reality to face them?

Ascend is conceived as a response to ease the burden our community is faced with when navigating loss. This vulnerable time of loss, and the way funeral directors treat it, can have a lasting effect on the optimal healing and growth that we wish to foster at Ascend. While we cannot prevent the journey of grief, we promise to be a partner to our families that are walking through it and earn our place as a positive chapter of their story.
