Blaine Scott Knowles

Blaine Knowles of Wausau passed away on December 25, 2025, at Mountain Terrace Assisted Living.

He was born on November 13, 1942, to the late Bill and Phyllis (Twichell) Knowles in Lansing, MI. Blaine graduated from Oswego High School, Class of 1960.

Soon after high school, he joined the United States Air Force. Eventually, he ended his career at the air base near Antigo, WI. He then met his wife, Cheri, and they married shortly after his honorable discharge. They were married on September 18, 1965, in Antigo.

Blaine held a number of jobs over the years, but was always involved with computer science. His final job was at Breakbush in Westfield, WI, where he maintained the computers in the plant that operated the equipment in the plant. After retirement, they moved to Wausau, WI.

He is survived by his sister, Jackie (Neil) Twichell of Eaton Rapids, MI; a niece, Ingrid (James) Benward of MI; and a nephew, Eric Twichell of Portland, OR. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law, La Vonne Duernberger of Wausau and Sandy Duernberger of Antigo; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl (Duernberger) Knowles; parents, R. William and Phyllis A. Twichell; mother and father-in-law, William and Edna Duernberger; sister-in-law, Dolores Marx; brothers-in-law, William C. Duernberger, Ronald Duernberger, and Robert Marx; nephew, Regan Duernberger; and great-nephew, Craig Marx.

Private burial service will be held at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery in Antigo, WI.
