Eunice V. Baumann, age 84, passed away July 23, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born on June 3, 1942, to the late Erwin A. and Viola F. (Ringle) Wilde. Eunice married the love of her life, Elgart “Junior” Baumann, Jr., on her 25th birthday, June 3, 1967, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Elgart passed away October 26, 2024.
Eunice was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau and longtime member of the Altar Guild. She raised her family and worked for JCPenney in Wausau for over 20 years. Eunice held several state and national positions within the American Legion Auxiliary as well as local offices as 8th District President.
Eunice and Elgart enjoyed Sunday drives and loved to travel with special friends across the country, Arizona, Colorado, Arkansas, Missouri, and Door County. She was a member of the Central Wisconsin Polka Club as well as the Pommerscher Verein Central Wisconsin. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed attending her grandson Andrew’s activities.
Eunice is survived by her daughters, Brenda Bolin and Angela Burton; grandson, Andrew Bolin; nephews, Richard Wilde, Chris Gee, Corey Gee; and niece, Kay Wilde. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elgart; son, Timothy Baumann; daughter-in-law, Beverly Baumann; and son-in-law, Darrel Burton; as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, WI 54401. Pastor Jim Mayland will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, at Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 2809 Jelinek Avenue, Weston, WI 54476, again from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church on Thursday. An American Legion Auxiliary Service will take place at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, at Ascend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eunice’s name may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church Altar Guild or to the American Legion Auxiliary.
