Carrie A. Hartleben

Licensed Funeral Director

The opportunity to see a loved one a final time before the funeral is complete can help provide some closure. That is something Carrie Hartleben has experienced firsthand and works hard to ensure families at Ascend have that same opportunity.

Carrie has been in funeral service for over 25 years. She has been a funeral director in three different states including Arkansas where she earned her degree in mortuary science.

She wants to use her experience, training and compassion to serve families. One way she does that is ensuring the loved one looks as they did before sickness or struggle. Carrie wants to be sure families have a peaceful, final image of their loved one that will stay with them after their final good-byes.

“I pride myself on caring for people’s loved ones the way I would want my family to be cared for,” says Carrie.

Carrie was recruited to work at Ascend because of her shared values and her history of compassionate care. She also brings a diverse background of experience to Ascend, that she says provides great perspective and knowledge of best practices. Carrie considers the team at Ascend truly a family.

“It is the people at Ascend that really sets this funeral home apart,” she says.

Carrie also enjoys providing opportunities for others looking to learn about funeral service. She feels it is important to foster the next generation, so she provides training and teaching in her role at Ascend. Now Carrie lives in Wittenberg with her husband and son.
