Jacob D. Simonson

Licensed Funeral Director

Jacob D. Simonson serves as a dedicated Funeral Director and Embalmer, helping families navigate one of life’s most difficult times with compassion and care. He works closely with families to plan funerals, memorial services, and celebrations of life that honor their loved ones in meaningful ways.

Jacob is a graduate of Des Moines Area Community College, where he earned his degree in Funeral Services. Before graduating with his degree in Funeral Services he attended Lakeland College in Sheboygan, WI at graduated in 2015 with his bachelor’s degree in business management.

Jacob is a 2nd generation funeral director following in the footsteps of his father who was a funeral director and owned multiple funeral homes in the Milwaukee, WI area. From around the age of 14 Jacob knew this was his calling and started to work alongside his dad throughout high school and during his undergraduate program.

“My goal for all families is to make this process as painless as possible but also understanding this is a major time of grief for a family” says Jacob.

Before joining the Ascend team, he gained valuable experience working for a trade embalming service, further developing his skills and deepening his commitment to serving others.

Jacob is married to his lovely wife Emily, and they have been blessed with two beautiful girls; Adalyn and Madison and reside in Weston.

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys hunting, fishing, attending sporting events, and spending quality time with family and friends.
